"The summer within the winter"

The weather changes fast here in Iceland, ... like the economy these days. But it is good to remember the beauty is still there, we just need to look a bit harder. There is always the heart of summer within the winter. The plants are just sleeping and will wake up again to give us beauty and joy.

During windy, cold days it is wonderful to sit under a blanket with our stitching in hand and a doggy to warm the toes and a purring cat helping with the stitching. A candle on the table and good family to share time with. Nothing is better then that no matter what else goes on in life.

Hello Rags, What gorgeous photos of the rose and snow. Has it already snow in Iceland. Here Autumn is upon us with some cool and rainy days and with some nice sunny days too. I hope all is well with you in Iceland. Hugs Judy

Judy, I am sorry to say but the beautiful snow is all gone for now and instead we have rain and wind. But I am glad I could take a few photos of the sunny snowy days, to keep the memory awake. :-)

Hi Rags,
We had our "first snow" last week but now we have 60+ days! A nice Halloween night today(no rain or snow)for the kids. I went shopping at a toy store and got cought up in a Halloween parade! I didn't get any candy! Oh well, didn't need it anyway.
I love the pictures that you have made! You have such a gift!

Hi Terri, good to "see" you :-)
Oh it must have been fun to be in the middle of a Halloween parade all of a sudden hahaha

I am starting my own little business these days; designing cross stitch patterns. I will post something about that in the next few days.
All the best to you Terri and yours :-)

Hello!
I found your blog by chance and think that your friendship tapestry is a wonderful idea! May I forward it to a forum concerning historic handicraft (you will find some photos of what we are doing here:

Dear Marled,
Thank you for your comment :-)
Yes you are welcome to post a link to the Friendship Tapestry on that forum. I couldn´t see it though because it is locked. But it sounds good :-)
Hope to see you here again.
